And there are no new pains. We have felt them all already. We have hidden that fact in the same place where we have hidden our power. They lie in our dreams, and it is our dreams that point the way to freedom

The Work of Being Human

The daily practice of being fully human is fraught and complex and beautiful. Learning to trust the authority of your lived experience and follow the true calling of your soul demands a level of accountability to self and to others that can feel at once frightening and enlivening.

To support your process my offerings draw from somatic, creative, and contemplative principles and practices. Together we will hold the totality of your life experience in the divinity of its ordinariness as your unique talents, gifts, and personal genius are revealed to you by you.

I am interested in what you consider to be the meaning of a life well lived. Where that meaning is uncertain or yet to be revealed, I hope to support you in moving into playful amazement and curiosity toward all that cannot be known. The goal is not to heal or fix, but to mutually create an environment within which the most ancient, wise, and knowing self can emerge and be witnessed, and where the existential concerns of a human life may be contemplated with reverence.

About Me

Hi, I’m Sherri.

What qualifies me to do this work?

I completed my undergraduate studies at Stanford University and I earned my Masters and Doctoral degrees in Clinical Psychology from the The Wright Institute in Berkeley, California. I am certified in Sensorimotor Psychotherapy Level 1 and Level 2 and received Reiki Level 1 attunement. My scholarship and research interests include the intergenerational transmission of benevolence and resilience, psycho-spiritual trauma theories, attachment theory, human development, and processes of embodiment and incarnation. I am deeply and passionately interested in the “being” of being human. I serve the world as a teacher when people grasp some deep understanding of themselves, what they believe in, what lights them up—when they are in profound contact with the expansiveness of their own humanity.

Since completing my doctoral studies I have committed myself to what I call an "education of the heart" and engaged in ongoing personal inquiry into contemplative and mystic traditions, folk herbalism, cartomantic divination, traditional astrology, and dream work as spiritual exploration and liberatory practice. My learning has been through formal course work, personal research and reading, and via direct experience. All of my life experiences provide a sturdy container in which to develop, hold, and grow my ancestral medicine and spiritual gifts. I am called to offer them in the service of love, justice, belonging, and community for the highest good of all concerned.

I was initiated into an African Traditional Religion in 2008 and am a graduate of the Center for Action and Contemplation’s Living School (2022). Additionally, I am a member of the Energy Medicine Practitioner Association (EMPA), the National End of Life Doula Alliance (NEDA), the International End of Life Doula Association (INELDA), the Right Use of Power Institute (RUPI), and The International Association for the Study of Dreams (IASD). I have completed full training in Organization and Relationship Systems Coaching (ORSC), as well as the assessments for the Leadership Circle Profile, Integrative Enneagram. and Emotional Intelligence 2.0.

I am apprenticed to Spirit, and this is my most relevant qualification by far.
